Just like that, January flew by and February half-term is almost here. If you’re on the hunt for activities to keep the little ones busy over the break, Cardiff’s got your back.

Nestled amid the redeveloped Canal Quarter, just off Queen Street, this immersive light experience transports you from the busy and bustling atmosphere of Cardiff City Centre to a serene and illuminating space. Created by a team of Welsh artists, the experience combines music and recordings of the Welsh countryside with dazzling LED lights which come to life when you by jump, dance or tap on the accessible interactive ground pads.
Up to two kids can eat free ALL DAY from Monday 12th February – Friday 23rd February (excluding Saturday & Sunday), if one adult orders any main dish (breakfast, lunch, & dinner). Visit Cardiff Castle for an exciting, hands-on encounter with some exotic members of the animal kingdom. As entertaining as it is educational, this show lets you get up-close and personal with some amazing species while learning all about their habitats and behaviours. Great fun for kids of all ages, mums and dads are allowed to get involved too. All tickets cost £7.00 per person, babies under 12 months go free.
Follow the Gruffalo’s Child on her adventurous mission in Tall Stories’ enchanting adaptation of the much-loved picture book. Let your imagination run wild with songs, laughs and scary fun for everyone aged 3 to 103. £15 – £17 per ticket.
The National Museum invites families to celebrate the work of Rushdi Anwar, Alia Farid and Mounira Al Solh by creating your own artworks. Designed for 5-10 year olds (but everyone is welcome) this workshop encourages children to explore sculpture, textiles and drawing techniques. Drop-in at any time between 11am and 2pm. No need to book. Parents or guardians must accompany children under 16 at all times. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy!
With two, indoor, 18-hole mini golf courses – there’s plenty to keep your little explorers entertained. Tackle the Tropical Trail together and explore the Mystic Wood or brave the ruins of the Ancient Explorer.
