We are delighted to invite BID businesses to the launch of the new Business Crime Reduction
Partnership for the city: Cardiff Against Business Crime (CABC). The event takes place at 2pm
on 31st January in the Conference Room in the Old Library on Yr Hen Lyfrgell, Working Street,
The Hayes, CF10 1BH.
Chairman of CABC Chris Parsons will open the event which will include details on how to join
as well as sign up to DISC, what you can expect from CABC in terms of training and support as
a business.
Ahead of the start of the Wales vs. Scotland 6 Nations Rugby the following weekend, there
will also be a short presentation from the Wales Counter Terrorism Unit on Project Griffin
which helps to inform your staff on how to deal with the threat of terrorism. They will be
supported by the Cardiff EVAC team and they will be explaining what you need to do to
prepare for a major incident and what to do when there is one.
MRS Communications will be present to sign up businesses to our new radio system CityNet
which links businesses with CCTV, Police, Ambassadors and each other to ensure that issues
are dealt with quickly and to make Cardiff a safe place for employees and visitors. The radio
is free for the first 6 months and then just £194 for the next 6 months. Full details are on the
