FOR Cardiff Vacancy – Marketing Officer

MARKETING OFFICER

Location: Cardiff city centre with option to work from home 2 days a week after a successful probation period.

Salary: £27,900 P/A plus a bonus of up to 4% of salary related to performance against set KPIs and company values.

Contract: Full-time Permanent (Contract to November 2026 with funding extension likely).

Hours: 37.5 hours a week. On occasion you may be asked to work outside of our core working hours. This will be communicated in advance.

Are you keen to play a key role in the marketing and promotion of city-wide projects, including but not limited to; the promotion of member businesses, highlighting our safety initiatives to the public, marketing our events and showcasing the work of FOR Cardiff to our members businesses and the public.

ABOUT US

FOR Cardiff is a Business Improvement District (BID) dedicated to making Cardiff a vibrant, safe, and prosperous city for businesses, residents, and visitors. Through innovative projects and strategic partnerships, we enhance the city’s public spaces and deliver tangible improvements that make a real difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Officer will assist the management and marketing teams with marketing and operational support for BID projects and campaigns according to the business plan and appropriate workstreams.

  • Support the Head of Marketing and Marketing & Events Manger with the delivery of marketing campaigns, events, PR, and general communications.
  • Social Media Marketing: Help us be a key voice for Cardiff by marketing our projects, campaigns and events as well as promoting businesses in Cardiff city centre.–Work with the ——Marketing and Events Manager to create social media plans.

– Create content for FOR Cardiff and City of Arcades Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn channels.

– Community management: responding to messages, engaging with followers.

– Deliver the social media strategy to support growth and engagement.

– Measure and report on performance using social media insights and industry tools.

  • Support with the planning, promotion, and delivery of events.
  • Update our website with new content such as events, blogs, and news stories.
  • Write and proofread copy for email, website, social, and print communications.
  • Track and report on performance: gather data and report on our projects, campaigns, events, and communication channels.
  • Support with the design of social media assets, posters, and other materials, in line with our brand guidelines.
  • Get creative with video: create short-form video content for our social media channels in line with our brand.
  • Administrative tasks including research and correspondence.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential

  • Experience supporting with the delivery of marketing campaigns and communications.
  • Social media marketing and content creation experience.
  • Experience supporting with the planning and delivery of events.
  • Experience writing copy for social media, email, web, and print communications.
  • Experience in a client or customer facing role.
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Desirable

  • Ability to communicate in Welsh.
  • Keen interest in improving Cardiff city centre.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative software.
  • Experience using social media insights to report on performance.
  • Experience using video editing software for short-form content.
