We’re Hiring: Professional Services Business Engagement Officer

Salary: £26,827pa pro rata with a bonus of up to 4% related to performance against set KPIs
Other Benefits: Private Healthcare and Cycle to Work scheme
Annual Leave : 25 days per year plus bank holidays
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Core hours 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday. Some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Location: FOR Cardiff offices as the main workplace but with regular meetings at city centre businesses.
Term: Fixed term to November 2026
Responsible to: Member Relations Manager

Job Purpose:
FOR Cardiff is the Business Improvement District (BID) for Cardiff City Centre. We work on behalf of over 800 businesses to enhance Cardiff for those that live, work and visit the city centre.

The Professional Servies Business Engagement Officer will be responsible for ensuring that our Professional Services businesses (Law firms, Banks, FinTech) access FOR Cardiff services and initiatives. You will meet with members on a regular basis to provide them information on projects, campaigns, and events as well as facilitate collaboration among members. You will be the face of FOR Cardiff, acting as a conduit between us and our members to ensure that Cardiff continually improves for its businesses and their employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own relationships with an assigned portfolio of FOR Cardiff levy payers.
  • Maintain accurate records of relationships and ensure key points of contact are up to date.
  • Ensure levy payers receive a return on their investment in FOR Cardiff and aware of the opportunities that BID membership provides.
  • Pro-actively target historically disengaged levy payers to raise awareness of FOR Cardiff and foster active membership.
  • Function as a conduit for feedback and recommendations from levy payers to the FOR Cardiff management team championing the professional services sector.
  • Communicate effectively with levy payers across multiple sectors and at various levels of seniority.
  • Support levy payers with day-to-day issues wherever possible, within the scope of FOR Cardiff’s business plan and area of responsibility.
  • Liaise and work in partnership with third party organisations (e.g. the council) to implement positive changes for levy payers and the city centre.
  • Support the Member Relations Manager in the rollout of the Member Relations action plan.
  • Represent FOR Cardiff at external events such as networking events, conferences, stakeholder meetings and pop-ups.
  • Assist in specific project delivery as tasked by the senior leadership team or workstream leads.
  • Stay well informed on key professional service sectors issues and trends.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required.

Personal Specification

  • Able to confidently network and develop positive and productive working relationships with FOR Cardiff members, partners and stakeholders.
  • An excellent communicator with a friendly and professional manner via telephone, email and face to face meetings.
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload, working under own initiative.
  • Thorough and accurate with excellent attention to detail.

Relevant Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of account management and/or building relationships.
  • Experience updating Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Experience coordinating meetings.
  • Confident user of standard MS Office software packages.
  • Strong administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of Cardiff city centre

Desirable

  • Ability to communicate in Welsh.
  • Understanding of Business Improvement Districts.
