We’re Hiring: Project Support Officer

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Project Support Officer to join the FOR Cardiff team. Reporting to the Business Crime Reduction Manager, your role will involve assisting in the smooth running of a variety of projects including Safe Places, CityNet Radio, and the Exclusion scheme.

FOR Cardiff is the Business Improvement District for Cardiff city centre – a private not-for-profit organisation, funded by 800+ member businesses. FOR Cardiff aims to enhance Cardiff city centre through the delivery of projects, campaigns and events.

Job Title: Project Support Officer

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional evening work may be required)

Based: FOR Cardiff offices, 7 St. Andrew’s Crescent, Cardiff, CF10 3DA

Salary: £24,300 + KPI linked bonus of up to 4% of salary

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

Term: Fixed term to November 2026

Responsible to: Business Crime Reduction Manager

Job purpose: The Project Support Officer will help ensure the smooth running of FOR Cardiff by assisting with the administrative elements of company management and the delivery of a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities

This role is ideal for someone looking to make a real difference in Cardiff city centre by supporting the delivery and administration of a variety of FOR Cardiff projects such as:

  • The CityNet Radio scheme – Administration of the city-wide radio scheme with over 200 members.
  • Exclusion Scheme – Administration of this scheme to support businesses experiencing anti-social behaviour in their premises.
  • Purple Flag – Support the team in the administration of the Purple Flag accreditation, showcasing Cardiff as a safe city to enjoy at night.
  • Ask Angela – The in bar or restaurant initiative for customers in businesses who don’t feel safe.
  • Safe Places – a safety scheme for the public to find a safe place if they feel vulnerable in Cardiff.
  • Women’s Safety Network – Women’s Night Charter administration of registered businesses and network meeting support.
  • Equality City – FOR Cardiff’s list of commitments and training we’re working with our members on to support them in the equality, diversity and inclusion journey.
  • Work with the business engagement team to support their work across retail, office, hospitality and leisure businesses.
  • Take minutes and actions for internal and external committees and meetings.
  • Organisation of meetings and committees.
  • Support in the collation and monitoring of key performance indicators to assist with the evaluation of projects and campaigns as and when needed.
  • Supporting the team with the management and organisation of events.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with FOR Cardiff members, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

Skills and attributes

Essential

  • Considerable experience in an administrative role or similar environment
  • Computer literate and able to adapt to new software
  • Good interpersonal and time management skills
  • Able to handle conflicting priorities and react quickly to incoming assignments
  • High standard of written English

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a project administration
  • Passionate about safety initiatives
  • Ability to communicate in Welsh
  • Keen interest in improving Cardiff city centre
